Report
Under the patronage of His Excellency Abdulrahman Abdulmohsen A. AlFadley, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, the first IFAT Saudi Arabia took place from January 26 to 28, 2026, at the Riyadh Front Exhibition and Conference Center.
Across the sectors of waste management, recycling, water treatment and desalination, energy recovery, air quality, as well as digital and intelligent environmental solutions, more than 450 exhibitors from 35 countries presented over 3,500 innovative solutions and technologies. International pavilions from Austria, China, the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Turkey, and the United Kingdom demonstrated the strong international response.
The first IFAT in the region provided an opportunity to exchange expertise, build partnerships, explore investment opportunities, and learn about the latest environmental solutions and technologies. In addition, the event featured a comprehensive conference program across two stages. The Orange Stage focused on waste management, while the Blue Stage was dedicated to the water sector.
A co-located summit also addressed the challenges and opportunities in the fields of waste management, recycling, and the water sector, with the participation of leaders and decision-makers from both the public and private sectors. Key topics included the Kingdom’s ecological transformation, the role of intelligent technologies in recycling, strategies to support the circular economy, the importance of public-private partnerships, as well as innovative solutions for waste management and resource sustainability.
As the largest event of its kind, IFAT Saudi Arabia brought together global expertise and local leadership to accelerate the achievement of environmental goals. It was part of the global IFAT network, which organizes leading environmental trade fairs in eight countries and connects technology providers with decision-makers from government and industry to support sustainable transformation.
We would like to thank the German Pavilion for the excellent organization.
