Tholander Ablufttechnik GmbH was founded in 1986 and is one of the leading suppliers of systems for odor removal and exhaust air purification for industrial and municipal applications.

The company is based in Viernheim near Heidelberg in southern Germany. Although the market focus was initially on Germany, the proportion of export deliveries increased steadily. Our exhaust air purification systems work successfully in many countries around the world.

History

The Tholander company has been providing good air for many years, worldwide. The Viernheim-based company is a plant manufacturer in the field of environmental technology.

The Tholander Ablufttechnik GmbH company was founded in 1986. The company was initially based in Hemsbach, and from 1991 in Viernheim. Since 2008, our quality management system has been certified in accordance with ISO 9001/2000.

The main market was initially Germany. But the potential in other countries was soon recognized. We delivered the first biofilter to a sewage treatment plant in Southeast Asia to Bangkok in 1998.

The company’s two main products when it was founded were initially biofilters and gas scrubbers. Over the years, the Tholander company expanded its product range to include activated carbon filters, chemical scrubbers using the countercurrent and crosscurrent processes, biotrickling filters and multi-venturi scrubbers.
