𝑂𝑟𝑔𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑧𝑒𝑑 𝑏𝑦 𝐴𝐻𝐾 𝐸𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑛 𝐴𝑓𝑟𝑖𝑐𝑎 𝑖𝑛 𝑐𝑜𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑏𝑜𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑤𝑖𝑡ℎ 𝑇ℎ𝑜𝑙𝑎𝑛𝑑𝑒𝑟
On 19 – 21 January, 2026, AHK Eastern Africa – Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa and Tholander Ablufttechnik GmbH – Germany’s leading expert in industrial odour control, VOC abatement, and exhaust air purification, hosted a high‑value forum in Nairobi focused on air pollution prevention and elimination. The event brought together private sector leaders, public stakeholders, financiers, and innovators.
To set the scene, informative inputs were provided by representatives from the National Environment Management Authority – KE (NEMA), the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) and the German Investment Corporation (DEG). George Warutere of AHK Eastern Africa – Delegation of German Industry and Commerce for Eastern Africa moderated the forum. Discussions highlighted the challenges industries face in meeting environmental standards as well as the significant opportunities that arise when public and private actors collaborate.
For our second session we explore one of Kenya’s most promising manufacturing sectors, the leather and the meat industries. In partnership with Kenya Leather Development Council (KLDC), GIZ Kenya, and the Kenya Association of Manufacturers. We discussed the sector’s transformation, environmental challenges, and innovative pathways toward Sustainable, high-quality production.
On the third day, the engineers were the focus of the forum. Weh ad very interesting impulse from the Engineer Board of Kenya and and the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
